Welcome to my new website.

For those of you who have visited kristenbennettmusic.com before or perhaps read some of my blog over the past few years, I want to extend my thanks as well as a warm welcome to the new platform, kristen.band.

Quite a few things have changed, but I'm so glad to take you along on this journey with me.

First of all, I'd like to explain the name change. If you might've noticed, my social media handles have all changed to @kristentheband. The Facebook page was shortened to simply "Kristen" instead of "Kristen Bennett".

It all started with a conversation with my best friend--my fiance, Marshall Bales.

The question was obvious:

"What do we change Kristen Bennett music to after the wedding?"

For many of you, the name itself has been associated with my music for years. I did not want to leave you confused after a name change, but I'm also thrilled to become Kristen Bales. In fact, I have a huge giddy smile on my face right now, just typing it out for the first time.

Moreover, the conversation deepened to a new construct; at my shows, I'd been introducing myself as "Kristen".

It was the natural thing to do, as any other solo artist on the road would argue. An intimate space requires you get to know each other on a first name basis, and I've always wanted to be on a first name basis with all of my listeners.

All relationships begin with one simple thing, a name.

And so, I left it at that--Kristen.

No fancy frills, super-indie pop city/inanimate object combination band name, but rather just...Kristen.

Thanks for sticking around, and I hope you hang around a little longer to share in this new chapter of music in my life.
